On your leaving the Primary School we at Khandallah School all wish you every success in the future.

Your education has only just begun but we hope that the foundations we have laid will have given you the desire to acquire still further knowledge and understanding in the years to come.

Khandallah School

'Khandallah' means camp or resting place of God.

The School began in 1893 in a small public hall at the bottom of what is now Simla Cresent.

The present site was first occupied in April 1894. The School consisted of a large room divided by a folding partition to separate the older and younger children.

  1. School Hall Opened
  2. Library move from Army Hut to Room 7
  3. School Teams won both Junior and Senior Cycle Rally cups
  4. Visit by F.2 pupils of Pongakawa School
  5. Raroa Intermediate opening postponed until 1970
  6. Chris Brodie selected for Wellington Primary Schools Soccer Representative team
  7. Room 1 had 4 teachers during the year
  8. Mr. Matheson, Headmaster for the last 8 years retired at the end of the year
  9. Mr. Galloway, Chairman, and Mr. Gibbons resigned after many years on the School Committee.
